Fintech translations: Ensuring Clarity in Contracts and International Communications

In Fintech, an unambiguous and precise translation of content is essential, because the execution of contracts is automated.

The Fintech sector is in full development at a global level and for this reason, it is crucial that in this area, any type of communication intended for operators or the public sector is clear and understandable, in any country in the world.

The digitisation of financial, banking, and insurance products and services requires the utmost linguistic precision in the drafting of the content of documents, contracts, websites, and smartphone apps.

At the same time, the translation of all these types of text is of fundamental importance, to make the services usable abroad and to eliminate any uncertainty about the message to be communicated.

How to translate Fintech contracts and communications

Fintech translation requires the utmost professionalism and must be carried out by native-speaking professionals, who are able to give the text to be translated the same meaning and the same tone of voice as the source language.

This applies both to technical documents, such as instructions, contractual or informative clauses, and to institutional and promotional communications. In the latter case, the translation is accompanied by the localization of Fintech texts, which allows you to modulate the message by intercepting elements of the culture of the target country.

Professional translations and localization are essential tools in any sector, but they are even more so in a growing and very technical market such as Fintech.

When talking about cryptocurrencies, blockchain networks or smart contracts, the precision of the language is essential, because it is through the words used that precise commands are given to computer networks and devices, from which predetermined and automated results derive.

Fintech and Smart Contract Translation: the automated contractual consequences

Smart contracts are now widely used in the commercial field, in which the contractual clauses become real computer commands, according to the “if/then” scheme (if a given event happens, a certain consequence follows).

Today, this dynamics is at the core of countless operations, such as insurance compensation, contractual resolutions, payments in cryptocurrencies, recognition of dividends and earnings from investment instruments.

In all these cases, the terms of the contract – and therefore of the computer script that will automatically generate the consequences of each contractual event – must be written and translated in a precise, professional, and unequivocal manner.

Betting and gambling addiction, a new scandal for Italian football

Several players from the Italian national team and Serie A are involved in an incident that will cost them months, if not years, of disqualification

In the 1980s, football stadiums in several Italian cities became the stages for a surreal scene: police vans practically burst onto the field to arrest certain players involved in an underground betting scandal.

Forty years later, this scene seems to be repeating itself, with a modern twist that makes it even more worrying in some ways. Apparently, the world of football is once again caught up in a scandal, but this time the problem is online betting, not match-fixing. What’s worse, it seems that many of the younger participants – mostly in their twenties or so – are actually developing severe gambling addictions.

Illegal betting and gambling, Italian football in the storm

This time there were no vans, but when the Guardia di Finanza agents showed up at the technical headquarters in Coverciano to deliver an investigation notice to the players Sandro Tonali and Nicolò Zaniolo, in the middle of preparations with the Italian national team for an important European qualifying match the following year, it became clear to everyone that another storm was brewing around Italian football.

A few hours later, it was learned that Nicolò Fagioli, a promising young player for Juventus, was also under investigation.

The Italian media is still producing a steady stream of news that, day after day, involves new players of suspected or confirmed guilt, based on revelations by third parties in pursuit of sensationalism, such as the controversial photographer-entrepreneur Fabrizio Corona.

Football and betting: Corona revelations and disqualifications

Sports legislation states that Italian cardholding members cannot bet on sporting events except on authorised platforms, where each operation remains traceable.

The ongoing investigations, which apparently concern a wide circle of prominent footballers, are outlining a worrying picture: bets placed on clandestine platforms, with tricks to avoid any data traceability.

Some of the players involved – such as Fagioli, who voluntarily reported himself to the police – appear to have accumulated millions of euros in debt, victims of gambling addiction.

Illegal betting: how to recognise legal online platforms

At any level, illegal betting must always be condemned, because those managing it operate without rules, with dirty money, and are devoid of any responsibility or control by current regulations.

When we talk about rules, we don’t mean that this is merely a tax issue. The regulation of online gambling and betting is also aimed at ensuring that platforms are under the supervision of public authorities and fall within national jurisdiction. Only authorised ADM (the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency) platforms guarantee a service in accordance with the law.

At its core, this isn’t just about preventing obscure intermediaries (who are almost always linked to organised crime) from replacing legitimate companies that operate legally with complete transparency. It is mostly about raising public awareness of the risks and dangers this seemingly innocent pastime can entail when it transforms into an addiction, a true disease that is capable of ruining lives.

These footballers, who have already tasted success and signed contracts in the millions, do not appear to have rigged any matches, at least not at this point in the investigation. They have simply spiralled out of control from a life that has become too easy, with a boredom that can only be assuaged by filling their time off the field with an invigorating and potentially lucrative activity.

Betting is a game that must walk a fine line, with a need for legality, transparency, and protection for the players themselves, but this new scandal with Italian football tells us that this is not enough: we cannot forget that in addition to talent, success, and money, there are still plenty of other values needed to grow up.

It is a matter of education and culture, long before it becomes an issue of legality. While the responsibility may superficially lay with these football players, it has actually uncovered a much deeper problem that concerns all of society.

In the Fintech era, digital evolution guarantees a series of advantages for companies and their customers, fostering constant innovation in the offer of financial products and services and the creation of new business models.

The term ‘Fintech’ refers precisely to this, proposing a synthesis between the words Finance and Technology and indicating the contribution that technology can give to all financial services, to guarantee leaner tools, faster times and lower costs, for the benefit of end users and companies in the sector, whether small or large.

Fintech, the digital revolution with new banking and insurance products

Today, each of us is able to make an online wire transfer, but this is only the most basic of the examples of how banking and financial services have evolved over the last few years, between cryptocurrencies and tailor-made insurance policies drawn up by virtual consultants.

And all this with a wide choice of products, because advanced finance is synonymous with Open Banking and Open Finance. The offer of financial and insurance services is no longer the prerogative of traditional credit institutions alone, but represents an activity that can be undertaken by any operator in the market, from the innovative start-up to the giant of the industry that wants to expand its outreach.

So, thanks to digital solutions such as blockchain, AI and process automation, the offer of products in this market sector is as vast as ever before, accessible to everyone and customisable according to the needs of the individual client.

        Localization

The Importance of Localization for Global Expansion in the iGaming Industry

In a fast-growing market like iGaming, localization of content is crucial for effective communication

Online gaming is an experience through which the end user seeks fun and excitement. For this reason, an iGaming platform needs to know how to win each user’s attention and entice them to choose from the offered selection of games, to register, and subsequently become a loyal customer.
The most effective tool to achieve these results is always content localization, i.e. the adaptation of text on the provider’s website so that it reflects, as closely as possible, the culture and language of each user’s specific geographic territory.
Indeed, the same concept may be expressed in many ways and in various tones according to different languages, thereby making the message more or less effective with the target audience, depending on where it is read.

Localization: the key to success in the iGaming market

Content localization is now an essential requirement in any company’s communication strategy, and this applies even more in a booming global sector such as iGaming, a market with an international turnover of more than 300 billion dollars, which is set to double in the next five years.
For a company wishing to establish itself as a key player in iGaming, communicating with its potential target audience can no longer be limited to simply making its games and prizes known.
The user’s desire to play online and try their luck with bets, casinos, and slot machines also depends on effective promotional messages that manage to strike the right chords in each user, no matter where they are.
In order to really stand out in this market, therefore, something more is needed. You should speak to the audience’s heart and ‘gut instinct’, arouse empathy, and make the reader feel that they are talking to a friend, someone who understands their preferences and desires, someone they can trust and who can offer them exactly what they like.
Localization in iGaming starts with promotional messages that the reader can find around the web and that should suggest, according to each user’s language and cultural background, the advantages and benefits that a given gaming platform can offer.
Advertising isn’t all you need though: the next important step, once they have reached the online gaming site, is for the user to feel at home, along with all the information they need explained in a familiar and comforting way.

Rugby World Cup, Italy challenges France to keep the dream alive

Italy’s rugby team seeks to conquer its French hosts: the quarterfinals of the World Cup are still up for grabs

After a resounding defeat suffered at the hands of New Zealand (17-96), Italy’s rugby team seeks redemption in a decisive match against their French hosts.

On Friday 6 October at 9 pm, in Lyon, the Azzurri and Roosters will compete for a spot in the quarterfinals of the World Cup, a goal never before achieved by our national team.

Italy-France, the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup are still up for grabs

After an encouraging start to the world championship, with victories over Namibia and Uruguay, Italy came out the worse for wear after the match against the All Blacks, but coach Kieran Crowley is working to rebuild team morale: “We had the wrong approach in our last match, but now, against France, we have another chance to show that we can compete with the big teams.”

Paolo Garbisi, one of the pillars of the Italian team, echoes him: “We need to let the defeat with New Zealand roll off our backs. It hurt, but we have to move on. Now let’s focus on France: they’re very strong, but in the last Six Nations we finished with a very close score.”

In fact, the match last February in Rome was won 29-24 by the transalpine team, showing that Italy was absolutely up to the task. However, overall, precedent matches between the two national teams lean decidedly in favour of the Bleus, with just three victories for our team in 47 official matches (Italy hasn’t beaten them since the Six Nations in 2013).

The French, for their part, are playing a leading role in their home World Cup: thanks to their victorious debut against New Zealand and two subsequent victories, they lead the group with 13 points, against Italy’s 10. Presumably, whoever wins this direct clash will join New Zealand in the quarterfinals, playing in the final round against Uruguay.

Rugby, where to watch Italy-France on TV and streaming

France will miss scrumhalf Antoine Dupont, one of the best players in the world. Italy, meanwhile, will present a revolutionised line-up compared to the last performance, with the young star Ange Capuozzo returning as a full-back, after playing as a wing, while Faiva and Ferrari enter the front row in place of the injured Nicotera and Fischetti, with Allan as fly-half and Garbisi as inside centre.

Italy’s dream is still alive. To cheer in front of the screen, here are the TV times for Italy-France: live on 6 October at 9 pm on the Rai Due public channel and on satellite TV with Sky Sport Uno (Channel 201) and Sky Sport Arena (Channel 204). It will also be possible to follow the match via live stream on SkyGO as well as on the Now TV and RaiPlay platforms.

The Success Story of GameArt and Clever Translations: Localization that shares your game with the world

Exploring GameArt’s success through “iGaming Localization” and the pivotal role of translation in this global adventure.

          A Competitive Challenge

Competition is fierce in the iGaming industry, and success often depends on your ability to adapt and deliver an immersive and authentic gaming experience across the whole world. GameArt, a renowned developer of high-quality HTML5 slots for online and land-based casinos in regulated markets, has boldly confronted this challenge. With a focus on simplicity, efficiency, and high-level entertainment, GameArt has quickly gained a prominent position in the industry.

          A Key Interview

We had the opportunity to sit down with GameArt Project Manager Ema Hrustanovic, the mastermind behind the realization of each Product Owner’s vision, and talk about how localization has played a pivotal role in their global success. “For me as a Project Manager,” she says, “my main purpose is to organize the team and make sure that great ideas from Product Owners come to life. It’s really a very impressive job to explore the market, finding the balance between successful mechanics and presenting something new, fresh, and innovative at the same time. Even if they are contradictive. So, it’s quite a responsibility to provide the product in different languages.”

GameArt’s success is based on its ability to attract players to the markets in which it operates, and localization plays a key role in this strategy. The head of GameArt points out that “Games are not just games anymore. Every day a new game comes out somewhere. So, our main task in the first few steps is to convince the player to play our game. Localization is a big part of that. It allows you to expand on several markets around the globe and to bring the original feel of the game, born during the very first draft, to a player in their native or chosen language.”

          The Magic of Localization

The role of linguistic localization becomes obvious when we examine the English term “Good Luck”, which is best translated into Italian as “in bocca al lupo”. The literal translation “Buona Fortuna”, could actually be considered very unlucky by many Italians, who often prefer the phrase “in the mouth of the wolf” instead. This successful translation goes beyond the simple conversion of words and captures the essence of Italian superstition. It’s an example of how localization is not only about making the game understandable but also enriching the gaming experience to be more engaging and authentic for local players. Almost like bringing a touch of Italian culture directly to the gaming table.

Choosing a localization partner is crucial in this process. For GameArt, three key elements drove their decision: experience in iGaming and localization, knowledge of the target audience, and speed of execution. “Their expertise in iGaming and localization reduces cultural and linguistic differences and achieves the best results in any target language,” says Ema.

“We wanted the team to understand the target audience and our product, to achieve the right tone, include slang and commonly used terms, but always stay true to the original version.”

          Ema
Ema Hrustanović – Project Manager at GameART.net

          Choosing a Trusted Partner

The creation, production, and maintenance of a successful game is a massive undertaking, and no one wants to see all that effort wasted because of linguistic or cultural misunderstandings. That is why GameArt needed a partner it could fully rely on.

“After months of work in different departments with all the creative teammates in our production team,” Ema explains, “we place the game into the hands of a partner that we trust, that will further nurture our great work and ideas in every language.”

Additionally, localization in iGaming is a dynamic challenge and often requires an immediate response to real-time actions. “Since iGaming is a live business, we needed a team that was fast, adaptive, and supportive. No matter the task, we need our backs to be covered.”

Quality is always the focus of GameArt. “Our task is to create a game that attracts players from all over the world with a localization team that improves the user experience. So quality, quality, quality.” With Clever Translations team, GameArt finally found the professional and meticulous partner it needed to meet the needs of its players and customers.

The collaboration between GameArt and Clever Translations is an example of how strategic, high-quality localization can make a difference in the iGaming industry. With a common focus on quality and an understanding of international markets, GameArt continues to grow and deliver outstanding gaming experiences. This partnership is a clear example of how successful translation can transform a game into a truly global adventure.
