Jannik Sinner, the new tennis prodigy: wins and gains in 2023

2023 was the turning point for Jannik Sinner, who reached the ATP Finals final and triumphed in the Davis Cup with the Italian Team

The tennis champion that Italy has been waiting for decades has finally arrived and has carrot-coloured hair: it is Jannik Sinner, one of the true dominators of the 2023 season finale, with the final won in the prestigious ATP Finals and the Davis Cup raised to the sky together with his national teammates. A triumph that Italy has been waiting for 47 years.

Jannik Sinner, victories and rivalry with Novak Djokovic

Sinner is now one of the leading figures in world tennis, having reached No. 4 in the world ranking and being considered one of the most recognisable and appreciated faces by TV and sponsors.

Thanks to his always positive and balanced attitude, Jannik has not struggled to immediately obtain a great audience among fans – Italian and not only – even going so far as to boast a nice fanbase, the “Carota boys”, who follow him everywhere in all the tournaments of the world.

However, it is on the court that Sinner has earned success and respect from opponents, as the world No. 1 Novak Djokovic has also repeatedly acknowledged. The Serbian champion crossed the rackets with the Italian player three times in just a few days, winning the final of the ATP Finals, but then losing in the round of the same tournament and in the hard-fought Davis Cup semi-final.

Sinner’s earning in 2023

Thanks to these victories, Sinner has broken many records and earned big bucks from prizes and sponsorships. Before him, no Italian had ever collected 64 matches won and 7 finals played in a single season of professional tennis.

In 2023, Jannik accumulated a personal prize pool of as much as $8 million (more than 7 million euros), while contracts with his various personal sponsors guaranteed him another 30 million euros in revenue.

Yet, the contract with Nike, a brand of which he has become one of the leading testimonials, will allow him to earn around 150 million euros over the next ten years.

At just 22 years old, the future is his: the next challenge in Jannik Sinner’s career will be to win a Grand Slam. The last Italian to succeed in men’s tennis was Adriano Panatta, in 1976.
